Terms of use

Last updated: 22 October 2026

These terms cover your use of the Noboru app and the Noboru community. By using Noboru you agree to them, and to Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies. If anything here conflicts with Apple's agreement on how the app is licensed, Apple's agreement applies.

Who we are

Noboru is run by Rodney Reid in Japan. Contact: support@getnoboru.com.

Membership and payment

Your progress

Your study data is stored in your own iCloud account. You keep it whether or not you have a membership; without one, some study features are locked, but your progress is never deleted by us.

Content

All questions, readings, audio and explanations in Noboru are written for Noboru. They are not official JLPT materials, and Noboru is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Japan Foundation, JEES, WaniKani or Tofugu. Noboru helps you prepare; it can't guarantee a result in any exam. Please don't copy or redistribute Noboru's content outside the app.

The community

Members can join the Noboru community. Please follow the community rules pinned there: be kind, stay on topic, don't share pirated material or real JLPT exam questions, and respect other people's privacy. We may remove posts or access for anyone who breaks them. Answers marked as AI are generated automatically; please double-check them.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the app or the community: no attempts to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, no harassment or spam, and no use that breaks the law.

Liability

Noboru is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, or for losses from things outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law where you live.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app before it applies. The date at the top shows the latest version.
